- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related technical discipline.
- 2–3 years of relevant engineering experience, ideally in automotive or precision plastic part design. Experience in connector development (Low / High voltage) is an advantage.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (CATIA V5 highly preferred).
- Solid understanding of mechanical design principles: tolerance stackup analysis (GD&T), DFM/DFA, material selection.
- Familiarity with PLM and ERP systems; SAP experience is a plus.
- English native; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present technical ideas clearly to both engineers and non-engineers. Experience with customer presentations is a plus
- Eagerness to learn from experienced mentors while contributing your own ideas and energy.
- Comfortable working in cross-functional, international teams.
- Travel requirements 5-10% within USA & international (Mexico / Austria)

- Participate in the development of innovative connector systems tailored for North American automotive customers.
- Collaborate closely with account managers and customer design teams to transform technical needs into manufacturable solutions.
- Create and revise 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using CATIA V5, using best practices for DFM and tolerancing e.g. GD&T
- Support design verification through FEA, moldflow analysis, tolerance stacks, and DFMEA evaluations.
- Assist in creating design verification plans (DVPs) acc. to USCAR, LV214, ISO 8092 or LV215, managing component testing with internal and external laboratories.
- Create technical documentation, including BOMs, DVPs, DFMEAs, and review PPAP relevant documentation.
- Prepare technical customer presentations (TDRs) and support account managers in product presentations directly with customers.
- Contribute to internal product data management through SAP and PLM systems (knowledge of Cenit Connect is a plus).
- Analyze market trends and customer requirements to inform solution development, e.g. attending tradeshows, USCAR meetings / workshops.
- Act as a technical contact for customers and internal teams during product development and launch, e.g. supporting directly at OEMs (primarily US Big Three) and customer offices.
